Dos españoles (concretamente gallegos) se han adjudicado el primer premio de 30.000 US$ del campeonato mundial celebrado en Los Angeles, de World of Warcraft:
“Ferrol y Marín han impuesto su ley en la ciudad estadounidense de Los Angeles. Javier de la Peña y Néstor García son los flamantes campeones del mundo de World of Warcraft Burning Crusade, un universo paralelo en línea, a medio camino entre un videojuego y un juego de rol.
Wts Skill, nombre de guerra de Javier y Néstor, comenzó su andaura en el torneo tras superar varios cortes: Primero a nivel nacional, y luego en Europa, de donde salieron cuatro finalistas que se enfrentarían a otros tantos del bando estadounidense.
Javier (Fearwar) y Néstor (Souler) lograron meterse en la final y adjudicársela tras combatir con sus rivales desde el día 6 de diciembre sin descuidar ni un momento «hacer más daño que ellos». Por fin, el sábado 8 lograron su objetivo: Ser los últimos en quedar en pie.
Su triunfo les ha reportado un premio de 30.000 dólares, algo más de 20.450 euros. Tal cantidad ha cambiado sus planes de futuro; ahora piensan realmente en dedicarse de forma profesional a los campeonatos de videojuegos.”
